Business Listing Terms & Conditions

These Business Listing Terms & Conditions govern the submission, management, and publishing of local business directory profiles on AlturasCalifornia.com (the "Directory"). By submitting a business listing, creating an owner account, or subscribing to a premium listing plan, you agree to comply with these terms.
1. Directory Purpose & Eligibility
The Directory aims to promote businesses, organizations, and services located in and around Alturas, Modoc County, and the surrounding high desert region. To be eligible, your listing must represent a real, active business, community group, or professional service operating locally. We reserve the right to verify business credentials and local presence before publishing any listing.
2. Accuracy of Submissions
Listing owners are responsible for providing and maintaining accurate, up-to-date business details, including business name, contact phone numbers, email, website links, physical address, and hours of operation. You agree to update your listing promptly if your business information or status changes.
3. User Account Security
To submit and manage listings, you must create a directory member/owner account. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials, passwords, and profile settings, and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. Listing Plans & Billing
- Basic Listings: Basic directory listings are provided free of charge for local businesses. Basic listings include basic profile fields, logo, cover image, reviews management, and events posting.
- Premium Listings: Premium listings are optional paid upgrades that unlock priority sorting, custom calls to action (buttons), photo galleries, ad placements, and priority directory support.
- Billing Toggle Switch: Paid checkouts and subscriptions are processed securely using Stripe. If paid billing is toggled OFF by the website administrator, Premium listings are temporarily activated without requiring checkout. If billing is toggled ON, the corresponding subscription must remain active to retain Premium placement.
- Cancellations: You can cancel your paid Premium subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, your listing will automatically revert to the Basic tier at the end of the current billing cycle. No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods.
5. Content & Media Standards
Any content you upload to your listing (including descriptions, logos, photos, and links) must not violate any copyright, trademark, or intellectual property rights. Submitting offensive, defamatory, misleading, fraudulent, or explicitly adult content is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal of the listing and account suspension.
6. Review Moderation & Responses
Listing owners can read and respond to user reviews. Responses must be professional, factual, and respectful. We reserve the right to moderate, hide, or remove reviews and responses that violate our community standards or are deemed to be abusive or spam.
7. Moderation Rights
We reserve the right to review, edit, reject, suspend, or permanently delete any business listing or account at our sole discretion, with or without prior notice, if we believe it violates these terms, harms Directory integrity, or is inconsistent with our community goals.
8. Limitation of Liability
The Directory is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. AlturasCalifornia.com makes no warranties, express or implied, regarding Directory search placement, customer reach, leads, revenue, or uninterrupted site access. We are not liable for any business losses or damages resulting from Directory use or listing moderation.
